Prophylaxis / Prevention

Prevention is better than cure!

We have heard this phrase so many times that we sometimes miss the importance of its seemingly simple message: by taking precautions, it is possible to avoid future problems.

All it takes is a simple commitment to periodic dental checkups, every 6 to 12 months, which will help you avoid much higher costs in terms of time and money and possible consequences for the health of your entire body.

Thus, heart disease, hypertension, complications of diabetes and pregnancy are some of the risks associated with periodontal disease, and the consequences of dental disease, caries, are well known.

During professional cleaning sessions, your dentist can provide you with personalized preventive advice to ensure the health of your gums and teeth. He or she will perform a professional dental cleaning and screen for problems that may already be present.
With regular professional dental cleaning and periodontal control, you can avoid most gum and periodontal disease, or at least catch problems that can be easily remedied (saving time and money).

Conservative care

When decay attacks a tooth, if we intervene in time (with regular check-ups every 6 months), we can make small, invisible repairs and save the tooth from much more invasive and expensive treatments.

Endodontics (root treatment)

If a cavity or trauma damages the pulp of the tooth (the nerve) and causes inflammation or death, it is necessary to remove the damaged nerve and sterilize the canal before repairing the tooth.

Prosthesis

Dentures are an effective replacement for a tooth.
Crowns, bridges, implants or mixed devices are aesthetically identical to your natural teeth and functionally perfect replacements. These dental prostheses improve chewing and give you back your smile.

The loss of even one tooth causes changes to the entire mouth and sometimes even to the entire body (posture). These changes tend to become more obvious every day and, more importantly, the more time passes, the more difficult they become to correct.

Every lost tooth must be replaced!

Depending on the specificity of the case, we will evaluate with you the most appropriate treatment:

Ceramic crown

Metal-free bridge (zirconia)

Titanium dental implant

Removable dental prosthesis

Digital radiology

It is not possible to make a good diagnosis without performing a quality radiological examination. At the Cabinet Dentaire de Nyon, you will find digital systems that produce high definition (HD) images with very low radiation exposure thanks to the high sensitivity of modern equipment.

With state-of-the-art technology, we guarantee the protection of our patients’ health, as well as that of our planet, because we no longer have to use toxic products to develop the radiographs.

3D Radiology or CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography)
Whether it is for small, meticulous interventions or for complex surgeries, it is necessary to have a clear visual representation of the real anatomical situation.
For example, before placing an implant, it is essential to assess the position of nerves, nearby teeth, the amount and size of bone and other delicate anatomical structures.
To obtain accurate images, we use three-dimensional digital technology such as CBCT.

Ceramic restoration in one session

CEREC – the technology that improves your life

What is CEREC dental restoration technology?
When a tooth has been damaged by extensive decay, a simple “filling” is sometimes not enough to make the tooth strong. In this case, the “classic” solution is a crown.
However, this last option is often too invasive because it requires reducing the tooth to a small stump (size of the tooth) before placing the crown.

We therefore offer an alternative solution to reconstruct the missing part of the tooth without destroying (cutting) the part that is still healthy: the CEREC system.

With this technology, the tooth decay is cleaned and the procedure is minimally invasive. An impression is taken with a 3D camera, the restoration is designed on the screen and then the restoration is made immediately.

How does a CEREC restoration work for permanent restorations in one session?

Before you begin treatment, you will receive detailed information about the advantages of the CEREC system for your specific case.

CEREC method: the procedure

Phase 1: the footprint

After removing the caries or the old amalgam filling, we make an image of the tooth with the 3D camera.

Gone are the days of taking traditional impressions with paste: now you have a comfortable, simple and intuitive procedure!

Phase 2: the design

We perform the custom restoration of the tooth on the planning unit screen.

This technique allows us to obtain the final design of your restoration in the shortest possible time.

Phase 3: Milling

Phase 4: Installation

When the restoration is ready, we apply it directly to your tooth. After a comfortable and cost-effective treatment, you will have an aesthetically perfect and durable tooth with guaranteed functionality.

The advantages of a CEREC treatment

  • Excellent aesthetics
  • Guaranteed FUNCTIONALITY
  • High precision
  • Shorter sequences
  • Reduced ANESTHESIA
  • Increased BIO-COMPATIBILITY

We make the tooth immediately, in one session, with the final materials, thus avoiding unreliable and costly temporary restorations.

We take the digital impression in seconds with the 3D camera, which achieves extremely high levels of accuracy, without having to resort to the unpleasant “impression paste”.

Then we “sculpt” the restoration in minutes, right in the office, from a ceramic or composite block, and place it immediately on your tooth.

The CEREC method allows you to complete the entire procedure in one appointment in our office.

Discover the revolution in the approach to dental prophylaxis: the Guided Biofilm Therapy GBT

Cabinet Dentaire de Nyon : Certified GBT Provider.

Healthy MOUTH for a healthy LIFE – GBT Guided Biofilm Therapy

We often have an unpleasant host in our mouth, the Porphyromonas Gingivalis, a bacterium associated with cardiovascular diseases, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, diabetes and pancreatic cancer, etc.
We have always been aware that it is better to have a healthy mouth, but it is only thanks to the studies of the last few years that we have understood that oral health is closely linked to our general health and that some diseases -often fatal- can be triggered by the biofilm (accumulation of bacteria) that settles on our teeth.

Dental biofilm is insidious, it is invisible but harmful.
The GBT prophylaxis system makes the biofilm visible with a specific dye so that we can get rid of it 100% with the help of Airflow and Perioflow, systems patented by the international market leader, EMS (Nyon-Switzerland). Thanks to micro-powders, the dental biofilm is removed without causing any damage to the dental surface and in complete comfort. The mineralized portion of the biofilm, the tartar, is then gently removed with Piezon-no pain ultrasound.

GBT is a top approach. A pleasant and effective treatment.
